The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is the nation's oldest program to provide training and employment opportunities to low-income Americans over age 55. It was authorized by Congress in Title V of the Older Americans Act of 1965 to provide subsidized, part-time, community service work based training for low-income persons who have poor employment prospects.

FCLDC was selected as the designated Community Housing Development Organization and it continues to build and renovate units for low to moderate-income families in the heart of Lexington. FCLDC partners with Community Action Council and V & D Construction in an effort to safely and efficiently build multiple units.

The Urban League Community Technology Center was erected in 2002 to address all of the needs mentioned. With a community technology center, we are able to provide computer training to those in need as well as provide access to computer software and the Internet.

Since its inception the Urban League has been at the forefront of the civil-rights movement, and continue that leadership and advocacy role today. With key programs focused on empowering African-Americans to achieve equality in all aspects of American life, the League builds the bridges that will close the equality gap for all people.

Men As Nurturers & Providers’ (MAN UP) mission is to increase child well being, promote positive family formation, and enhance community vitality by assisting males in becoming healthy and positive fathers. This program seeks to both challenge and encourage men with children to adhere to their responsibilities as fathers, while providing support for them to overcome existing barriers such as reentry, relationships, and education.
